Zombie Questions
In the spirit of Halloween, I think it’s high time that we take a step back and ask ourselves the big questions. The big zombie questions. If we’re to believe the logic set in place by most zombie movies, all of the following things are true:
- A zombie’s sole motivation is to eat the living — specifically, their brains.
- The living become zombies by being “bitten” by zombies.
- Zombies don’t necessarily get anything out of just biting people — they’re trying to feed themselves. There’s no reason they would stop at biting.
- You never see zombies walking around with cracked open skulls, missing their brains, as would presumably be the aftermath of having been attacked by another zombie when they were alive, making them into zombies to begin with. In fact, in a lot of zombie movies, hordes of completely intact zombies crowd around a living person and devour him entirely, with entrails flying everywhere. How did those dudes become zombies? And what of the guy they’re all eating? Do his scraps turn into a bunch of tiny zombies?
- You can only kill a zombie by shooting it in the head, destroying its brain, but there’s absolutely no reason why there should ever be a zombie walking around with an intact brain that could be shot in the first place.
Basically, there should never be a problem with zombie propagation. Once the first generation of them dies out, that should be it. If someone can reconcile all this, please let me know.

When the zombiepacalypse comes, I’m gonna stick with Daniel. He’s really studied the angles on this one.
